What are the best things i can do to increase my house value and attract more customers? It's a small 2 bedroom flat in chester currently valued at £134,000. Any ideas would be good. Thanks.

Hi Leroy,

Things to consider are:

1. the property is worth what someone is prepared to pay for it! Surveyors will generally value 10 - 15% less than the estate agents.
2. Decorate neutrally.
3. De-clutter and everything has to be clean.
4. Bling up the kitchen and bathroom. Fluffy towels etc, make the rooms look, feel and smell inviting.
5. Flats are very difficult to get mortgages for at the moment so yours has to be VERY special.

Currently, the market has slowed. To increase the value of your property or even get the sale price, you should think about making your home more attractive to spectators. Things like creating a clean environment, free of clutter and congestion without displaying too many personal items can help attract a buyer.

The sections on house valuation and negotiating to get an agent's rate down are very good. From choosing the right policy features to tips on lowering the likelihood of making a claim you can find everything you need to know to increase your chances of finding cheaper house insurance quotes to keep your costs down.
