A HOMEOWNER fears she will be targeted by fraudsters after bungling estate agents posted her passport and driving licence on their website.

Vicki Fitzgerald, 26, got the documents copied to prove her identity when she asked Bairstow Eves to sell her £180,000 home.

But instead of displaying details of her house, the company showed her personal details instead.

Journalist Vicki, of Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, said: "It's been a complete nightmare. Credit cards and loans could easily be applied for in my name."

Bairstow Eves removed her details within hours.

I guess it's an easy mistake to make, confusing a picture of a house with a passport....

Shocking. Completely shocking.

You'd think there'd be some kind of data-protection/damages come-back here.

There's something beyond this little snafu that might be passing people by:

With the money laundering regulations, estate agents are privy to fantastically powerful information about you - and often information about your sensitive financial particulars. That's right - they've got you by your particulars.

How long will it be before there is a story in the Daily Mail about an Estate Agent that has driving off in their mini cooper with funds from a number of building societies tucked in to their Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen purple shirt pocket?

That could never happen - could it? Probably not - there aren't too many building societies left these days...

Cheerio,

Frying Bullet.
