Is it me or when you even mention something as simple as the weather they turn it into ' Oh isnt it terrible this housing crash, our Sandra shes just given up she as.... house was on the market for 2 years now ... nothing ... not a thing ... terrible .. just terrible'


ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Its doing my head in. Maybe im being abit over the top.
But seriously I'm averaging about 3 conversations a day about the state of the market... and ive actually started being abit rude to people! about it.

Here is my typical conversation with your average person on a normal day.

Me - 'Its a nice day today isnt it '
Negative person - ' Ah tis' supposed to be raining tomorrow though, you selling that house of your yet?'
Me - ' Oh, im not selling it anymore'
NP- ' Wise woman, houses are just not selling are they... its such a shame'
Me - 'Ummm I was only joking (nervous laugh), its going on the market next week hopefully'
NP- ' Well I hope you'll have better luck then jimbob jones oh he had a grand house ... the lot , laminate through out .... new kitchen the lot. Not a thing ... no viewers ... terrible ... such a shame. Living with his mum now couldnt keep it up ... terrible............ Its everywhere isnt it. Nothings selling.
Me - ' Hmmmm, Well im still hopefull... ive had a look at what has been selling and it does seem to be houses of higher standard and my house is the best it can be and quite a good price I think.
NP - ' Ahhhhh, nothings sold in this town this months. Have you seen all the 'For Sale' signs.
Me - ' Well actually its about 10 houses a month... not alot but somehouses are selling just not like they where.
NP- ' Well anyway.. you'll be damn lucky if you get any viewers in this recession'
Me - 'Ummmm yes (Smile)


See, thats what I have to put up with .
But half the time the person im talking too is selling there house and I end up saying well is it dated.
Then when they go 'oh what do you mean ' and I say you know, nasty flowery carpets and dark wood everywhere. Then they think im trying to be rude !

Try improving it and dropping the price abit. Then you can have abit of a moan because you have tried the best you can do to sell it.


I hate people that just read all the figures in the national newspapers and think its that cut and dry.
No one is even hopefull anymore.

haah no.

I dont think I will until i've sold my house. But then i'll have to hear how im one of the lucky ones.

How long has it been on the market for, and do you still stand to make a profit?

Its not on yet ! tsk ... it will be by Monday however. Im hopeful .

OH and profit ... after mortgage and fee's and everything bascially ..... roughly £18k ish  so I guess thats ok... for a years work ontop of our average wages... and then it has to be halved aswell ha I was forgetting about that.
