RECKLESS tenants are running riot in rental properties, costing some landlords tens of thousands of in repairs.
Over the past years dealing with rental properties we have witnessed this behavior time and time again, and have a photographic record of properties left by tenants in foul and un-rentable condition:
Houses strewn with rubbish, walls and ceilings left with gaping holes and in some instances marijuana found growing in properties.
Inspecting newly vacated rental properties it has been found that washing machines, fridges, window furnishings and even an entire kitchen missing.  Front and rear gardens full of rubbish and discarded furniture.
Landlords are footing the bill to clean up dog faeces and urine on carpets, flea infestations and even dead pets and houses full of rubbish left behind by tenants.
How many renters at this time across the UK have bad records for incurring damage or refusing to pay rent?
"It's malicious, it's vindictive, it's just terrible and no landlord should have to put up with it,"
There are no consequences for the tenants who wreck a property and leave their rubbish behind. If they are on benefits you cannot take them to court, what is frightening is they just move and are now living in someone else's house.
We believe tenants are entitled to live in well maintained good rental property, but when they have been provided with a sound home to live in they should have no right to abuse it, leave owing rent, wreck or ruin a landlord's property and walk away without any responsibility or consequences. To add insult to financial injury to these landlords who have suffered at the hands of bad tenants, in many cases the local authority help these tenants move to another property. Where we know they do exactly the same damage.
"The scales of justice are so unevenly balanced in a tenant's favour."
Whether its a bad landlord or bad tenant they should both be dealt with accordingly. No tenant should have to suffer an unscrupulous landlord or vice versa.
