Hi, my buildings insurance is up for renewal and still being wet behind the ears was about to renew it via my local high street brokers. Thought I would shop around on the net but it seem to have opened a can of worms. Tried a comparison site - how does any claim I have had at home have any bearing on a property I am renting out?? - filled in all the boxes only to be told that my details have been passed on... which means I will probably spend the next few days having my head pecked by call centres. Any advice or recommendations please?

Hey Katy,

I usually go direct to the insurance companies, and not through comparison sites, for the reason you mentioned.
I currently have all my home insurance policies direct via Halifax. It was pretty straight forward to setup.

I would personally just go direct, saves a lot of time and nonsense!!
