You guys know me by now always looking around for new business etc, ok I had a thought today while playing squash,
Property sourcing for rich foreign clients and looking after their property portfolios.  Ok i know there are some big companies out there that do this, but was wondering if there is any scope in new business.
What do you think !!!!!!
How much fun would it be to find ideal propertys and spend other peoples money on them.
Find out where they want to buy, research the area, maybe go to 3-4 agents get them to find 3-4 houses that fit the info etc, choose the ones you think your client would be interested in jobs a good un.  Client pays you and you may even get a kick from the E agents as well.
Hey not that I would want to do it, I got too much on man.

That's actually a pretty good idea Badgy.  If you ever do take it up, i'm sure you'll do wonders for ur clients.

propertyfag

There's a show on TV that does the same thing. Forget the name of it...

There's a woman and a bald guy, and they do all the research, and find 5 appropriate properties. Then the potential buyers view the properties, and then temporarily live in their favourite.

Know what I'm talking about Badgey?

Badger

Ye come to think of it i do remember it, just because of him, hes a balding cockney geeza, he also used to be on wrecks to riches a car program.

Well if its good enough for them its good enough for us.

Badgewr

Come on people, lets do it, let fall in love  ::)

propertyfag

Sounds like a good idea.

But i'm thinking that dealing with unsatisfied homebuyers isn't going to be a smooth ride. Here are some possible scenerios that are crossing my mind:

1) what if the client wants to view 5 potential properties with a certain spec with in a week, and there are no properties available.
2) what if the client dislikes all your choices
3) what if...what if..what if..

Homebuyers are stressed and miserable at the best of times :)

vwilson

Think I know the one you mean ... where they "try before they buy". Its a good show, but I wouldn't want their job. Like any of these property programs, I don't think anyone could find the right house for me by showing me three.

(she says, sitting in the *third* flat she saw before buying it).

propertyfag

I just don't think I could deal with the clients!

Aisha

faggy it's all about people skills and tolerance. You've got to be able to control yourself because ultimately your goal is to keep them happy. You keep THEM happy, they smile when they pay you. You get edgy and show frustration because of certain demands they make or mood swings they might have... you'll get horrible reviews AND this business venture will go down the drain.

PEOPLE SKILLS FAGGY... ALL ABOUT PEOPLE SKILLZ

I have peoples skills.

There's a difference between being a shop assistant and finding people homes to live in. Both jobs require "people skills".

When someone goes to the grocery store, and needs some friendly assistance when purchasing the perfect apple, there's little that can go wrong. In worst case scenerio, you sell someone a bad apple. No one is going to lose sleep over it.

In this case, you're attempting to help find someone a home. You're not dealing with apples, you're dealing with someone's actual lifestyle.

The responsibility is much greater, and the margin for error is greater. It's not all about peoples skills, it's more about taking on responsibility.

Say for example, you find someone an ideal home. A few months later, the owners aren't pleased, because the area has been contaminated with high crime rates. Consequently, they come knocking on your door...

If you want to be on the receiving end of that, I doubt your "people skills" will help that much.

You think about that.

Aisha

Grrr... ez champ. Don't make me play rocky's theme song n have u running around doing a work out... lol :D

Darling i know what your saying and agree completely, but i doubt badger would put himself in such a situation without knowing the pros and cons. And if i'm to present a locality/home to clients, i expect them to be educated enough to weigh out all factors regarding a property without me having to discuss all potential future occurrances in grade 2 vocab for them to clearly understand. And then even after all that research and babble, if two months down the road their to knock on MY door and complain, i'm sorry sure i might sympathise cuz i heave heart the size of.... well you get my point... but yeh our business transactions ended when you agreed to the property and moved in, started unpacking! There should be a clause in your contract with the clients 'you are responsible for all matters pertaining to your damn property after you move in. Badger is will no longer be held liable for any issues that might arise in the future... peace... thanks for commn out.. holla... enjoy life'

innit? :D

Now now my little sweet hearts.
Now whos dumby is this the blue one and whos is the pink one.  Here we go.
Business is based on many many factors and depending what business you go into you need to do your home work, It takes months sometimes years to do a market research analysis and then the bloody market changes etc, research always in business is an ongoing subject and one every CEO director does all the time.
Ok I am no property guru or house finder to the rich. But I would say if this was to be a venture then research is a must and clear policy and plans initiated to every new client you get depicting many things including the market change after purchase or any other environ manipulation that is out of your hands once the place is brought, you would have no come back, as soon as contract expires deal is done, Same would be if you got a house for a client in a not so bad area that suddenly went very high roller, they wouldn't expect you knocking on there door and you saying you want more as the house and location is more desirable now more so than then.
Business is swings and roundabouts, and lots of common sense.
As for people skills,  just let others act the twat, treat everyone in life whether it be business or not the way they treat you. If someone's an asshole then  just don't deal with them, his or her loss.  It goes along way.

Badger

Don't worry, Badgey, the only reason she gives me attitude is because I dumped her for her sister!

Badger

OMG How could you dump such a such a such a gorgee gorgee women, lol

propertyfag

She's expensive to run, mate!

Aisha

So all in all badgy... I was right :)

As usual!

<3 you always faggy you know this!  :-*

however i don't agree with u badgy on the front where you deal with others the way they deal with you. Just cuz someones a retard and completely rude, doesn't mean you must too conform to their immature behaviour. You know who you are, stick to your standards and ppl skills, ie be nice and funny and all teddy bear like, the real you that is :D and maybe just maybe they can learn a thing or two from your big bum :) however i do understand theres a limit to everything. Like my five year old has this friend whose a bully sumtimes n pushes him around while we walk home, first few times i very sweetly told the kid to stop BUT THE MONSTER JUST WONT LISTEN.. lol so two days ago i lost my cool... yes with a little five year old... and i said STOPPPPPP THATS NOT NICE... HE'S YOUR FRIEND... DON'T DO THAT!.... n even though that kid doesn't know english :D lol i'm sure he kinda got the drift... but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO little kid just wont stop. So now i'm giving my kid crap for it cuz he allows for it to happen.

N  e ways... rofl... IM RIGHT... BOTTOM LINE :D

<3 PIP

OMG... you see badgy, remember our little tlak on faggy and his babble... being able to differ fact from fiction... right... this is the FICTION in him comming out :)

he didn't dump me for my sister, i dONT have a sister.... it was my older brother :(((((((((((((

faggy u part timer you!!!

badgy... u're a sweetheart, i think u're teh only one around here who sympathizes with me... sigh

and no im not high maintenance at all ... all i require is a bit of luvvvvvvvvvvvv...

You used 8 emoticons in that response. I should put a limit on how many you can use per post. You're abusing the system!

true say! I don't know why I let fags walk all over me... sigh.  >:(

actually faggy it is pretty clear cut. Everyone might have their own definition of being an A hole. But I think the avg person would agree on standard A hole material.

Badger

I must admit put a bit of antidistablishmentareanism on the board and watch the stats go up cool.

By the way antidissistablishmentairianism isnt spelt wrigh right

Badger

actually faggy it is pretty clear cut.

Are you kidding me?

If that was the case, no one would ever be let down. I'm pretty sure there has been at least one occassion in your life when someone you trusted turned out to be someone you thought they weren't. It happens to everyone.

Saying you can spot an asshole out easily is like saying, you can judge someone by the way they look. It just doesn't work like that. This especially applies in business. Someone may seem like a perfect client. But as soon as something goes wrong, they might turn into an asshole. But you wouldn't have seen that side of your client until something went wrong.

So, if you're in business with someone, and everything went fine. You would never know that person was an asshole.

propertyfag

Oh, someone asked me to start a sunbed shop with them lol

Just saying.

Badger

Now that person really is an ass hole ! lol

Badger

propertyfag

There must be money in sunbed shops.

Most of the women I see walking around the streets these days look like tangerines!

Aisha

lol @ sunbed shops.

agree with you faggy regarding not being able to tell if a person seems to be nice and all, but may be an a hole in actuality.

it is a tough call, but i was talking about seeing a hole characteristics and then reacting with them accordingly.

vwilson

Wow. I've missed an emoticon fest over here.

Quotehowever i don't agree with u badgy on the front where you deal with others the way they deal with you. Just cuz someones a retard and completely rude, doesn't mean you must too conform to their immature behaviour.

This is very true; you define your own responses and behaviour, according to your own principles. Don't give them the power to drag you down to their level.

And yes, its very, very tough to see whether people are assholes. And even harder to keep trusting the new ones you meet when you've been burned a few times. But there is a balance that can be struck. As you get older, the whole situation teaches you patience, and to appreciate the gradual development of that trust and understanding - and, of course, better ways to deal with it when you do get disappointed.

A la Bob in "Lost in Translation" .... "its not hopeless"

Yeah. Then they have all the money back when they sue you for giving them skin cancer. Not a great long-term investment :/

lol V. True say, true say!
