Hi everyone,

I'm working on the production of a new BBC3 programme about the property market. It's going to explore the various options which are available to young people renting and buying for the first time, explaining the pros and cons of each.

One section of the programme is going to be about buying an ex – council or ex-local authority house or flat. We are looking for 19- 29 year olds, especially first time buyers, who are willing to share their experiences– either success stories, or nightmare outcomes.

At around 20% cheaper, is buying ex-council a bargain? Do you get more for your money? Or is there a reason that the property is offered at a discounted rate?

If you love your property and think buying ex-council was the best decision you ever made, we want to hear from you.

Equally, if you think it was a terrible decision we want to hear why your experience was so horrific, and how long you managed to stick out before deciding to move.

Please get in touch on here and share your stories, or contact me directly on:

Thanks!
