Just been sent an interesting off-plan opportunity in Northern Cyprus, but I've heard bad things about the location - from political instability to not really knowing whether the land belongs to you (land grabs?). It would only make sense as a holiday let and who's going to holiday in a potential war zone?

So, am just wondering what your thoughts are on Northern Cyprus. Am I getting mixed up with somewhere else?

In short, would you ... ?

Na Paralimni north of Aiya napa is where you want to be.  My Papa brought there of plan 2 yrs aga, was finished this year very nice.
I love Cyprus and have been to both parts often and i always head back to the south just because i love the greeks more than the turkish.  To be honest the way of life i have found down south is slower and when you want to chill its easy.  There is a place called fig tree bay just down the road from the villa and it is in my eyes one of the best beaches in the world, i just love it.  Also Coral bay is also very nice, this is more Pafos way but is remote and also pieceful.
The other good thing about cyprus is the fact its only 130 from Egypt i just love this place aswell.
I have had bad dealings with Turks in the past * spotted an asshole* and wont deal with them again

the obvious problem with buying in northern cyprus is the well documented fact of people being sold properties that have been built on land that they dont have title too. That aside,  when you do find something with full title, you are then buying something that would be proberbly half the price of the equivalent in the southern side. The only thing is,that its alot more quieter in the north than the south. I dont know if the political situation will ever get resolved over there some how I think not. If you look into cyprus's history, you will find that every-so-often someone decides to invade it and make it theirs. I hope that doesnt happen for a while though because I recently bought a nice apartment in Larnaca. ( which is the best up and coming resort in Cyprus)
