What do you guys think?

The increase rate is slowly slipping (although, still increasing) for houses, so the next few months should be interesting, especially since the next base rate decision will be made on the 2nd of September. I'm predicting there won't be a shift from the current baserate (5.75%).

A lot of people that i personally know that were looking to buy have made a conscious decision to sit on the fence for now, and wait for a few months, as they're unsure which way the market is swinging.

Would it be wise to only invest in places which you suspect will be up and coming in the years to come, and to stay away from already established areas, which have already boomed?

Aisha

arite mate? good.

I suggest you invest in places that are in the process of establishment, and have future plans for further development. People are always looking for new and improved areas, specially family households.

yow or right braa,
What ever you invest in you will always make money in the long run * you have to be unlucky not to *, just depends where, as some places creep up the higher investment returns ladder quicker than others.
Maybe another way of looikng at it is the ceiling prices of a certain area.
If you invest in what you think is a wise buy and its close to the ceiling price for that area then your returns wont be as good as say another area with a higher ceiling price.
Ok i wofffling on here and losing not only the plot but my mind  :o

Love ya work darlings

Hey dawgs,

I agree, investing should always be a longterm plan. However, for short term planning, do you think investing right now is a good idea?

Badger

Watch ya Mungus Dudus`es

Why not, go for it, After all invest now and the sooner * if renting* you can start earning from it,  thats the name of the game eh !
A short term can always turn long term if rates go up/down or for what ever reason really, just depends how brave your feeling.
SO i as i is a brave say yes yes yes invest now rather than later, you never know whats round the corner in life or in business.
