Hello there

I've always rented a room Monday to Friday and lodgers have always paid rent monthly and not had any reduced rate if they stay away  a weekday night for some reason or when they are on holidays ..... I have a new chap who says I should only charge for when he is there .... I explained prior to move in rent is reduced as weekday and is ongoing 52 weeks a year etc... so no .... do any other weekday renters reduce rent when lodgers are on holidays?

Genuine question - why does it matter what others do? Do what you want to do, including asking this new chap to not bother staying-on.
