I used an estate agent to rent my property. They charge 200 pounds for refence and guarantors check. Is it normal?

How many tenants?  Years ago when I worked for an agent the referencing company would charge £50+VAT per tenant. This used to be chargeable to the tenant but since the tenant fee ban it can't be charged to the tenant.

You chose them. Didn't you look at their prices before? Seems cheap to redo a fence to me. Why is the Agent doing it though? Surely you need at least a Handyman? How long is the fence?

This Handyman can do refencing when required.

But for referencing, I use a standalone tenant referencing company who charge £20 per applicant, so £60 for 2 tenants and a guarantor.
