Can I have a little whine,if I dress it up as a question?
Tenant moved out  mid- March,I paid council tax up to April 7th,by which time someone wanted to move in asap.I emailed the council, explaining that I would settle the remainder in the usual fashion which they have been ok, with for years.Tenant had a problem,so it was over 2 weeks before she took over. When no final bill arrived,I emailed start of May to query (they usually snatch my hand off) Reply was the bill was on it's way.Nothing arrived, then 10 days ago I got a summons to appear  at the Magistrates Court
early June,to pay £1,400.I should add that in 20 years none of my rentals or my own home has had arrears, let alone a court summons.

After phoning,I was thoroughly patronised before they agreed grudgingly to revoke the summons, and I paid the amount owed £84. I have now got a nil bill, but no sign of the letter I was promised revoking the court case.Should I press for this,or take any action?
Am I going to end up on "Can't Pay"? Worrying that  a revoked summons could  still show up on credit ratings. Mine is so far clean, and I want to keep it that way.

Would that be Warwick District Council again? We've had similar experiences at work so maybe it's just the their style. Still, it's not like we can take our custom elsewhere, and at least the peregrine chicks are quite cute.

Yes,the very same.Just up the road in Rugby my properties have never been charged a penny unfurnished when void. The baby birds are lovely I grant you,and it will soon be the Peace Festival in Leamington. It's just the council tax people that spoil it for me.
