Hello. This is my first post here. I have a property that has a detached annexe fed from the main gas and electric supplies. I want to rent them out separately. Would it be possible to put another meter on the gas and electric supplies so that i can get separate bills?

Option 1.

Fit internal meters between the main meter and the annexe Fuse box contained in the annex ( this might need doing, it's not realistic to keep it in the main house)

You then pay all the bill, and use the Sub meter to charge the tenant.

Option two.

Get a new dedicated supply installed to the annex. Costs are approx £800 per Utility. Internal works with Fuse boxes and dedicated boilers etc will also need to be done.

My Opinion, if it's going to be long term ( 5 years plus) go for option 2
