Hi all,

If a neighbour complains that the routes of a tree in a house belonging to a landlord is causing cracks in his house: 1) can it be proved that the tree is at fault. 2) Is the landlord responsible?

Any thoughts please.

Thank you

The only answers possible based on the limited information you have provided are:

1. Yes. It may be provable.

2. Yes. The landlord may be responsible.

Please try again - but with some useful information along the lines of:

- Species of tree?
- Age / height of tree/spread of branches?
- Distance of the tree from the neighbour's property?
- Was the tree present when you purchased the property or did you plant it?
