Got a flat which I rent out. I want to put this into my sons name. What would be the best way to do this. And what sort of cost. Regards

You really need to see a solicitor for this one.Provided there are no complications I doubt if this would be very expensive.

Hi, I recently went through this process in reverse and after horrendous quotes from solicitors managed it myself at a cost of £45 via the Government website. Trying to future proof against possible inheritance tax liability we bought a flat which we put in my son's name.  But years later when my son wanted to buy a house he would have had to pay a hefty stamp duty as a second home so I researched online and the Govt website was really helpful with a tutorial video for each step of the process. As it was transferred as a gift the land registry charge was £45. The only other costs to consider is for someone to complete the certificate of identity for  both  parties. Luckily a solicitor neighbour was able to do this for us.
