hello,

i have 3 tenants living in a property and they are leaving in a months time, but there are a few problems.

first is that one of the tenants still has a contract until June (5 months away). she has been here for sometime and is on a rolling contract. she asked for an updated contract a few months ago to be sent to clarify a council tax issue. does this mean that she is bound to it even though it is not signed?

the other issue is that there are unpaid sky and virgin broadband bills. can they be held accountable? if i prove to sky and virgin that they were tenants in a property that was owned by me?

please help they will be gone soon and i need help!

thanks

Hello

Once a assured Tenancy agreement finish date passes and the tenant stays they go on to a periodic tenancy. Ie a rollin contact, usually monthly if the tenant paid monthly.  They are still bound by the same terms as the original tenancy agreement.

I don't think your new agreement counts as it has not been signed by them...

I had a similar problems to you a few years ago.  My tenant  was on a periodic tenancy, she run up in a massive gas bill in my name. So I was been chased by the British gas for while until  I provided the tenancy agreement to them and the date they moved out.

Hope this helps :D
