Hi All,

I have a property which was vacated on Sunday. The new tenant who has paid a £200 holding deposit has now failed to move in yesterday or pay the balance for deposit and first months rent. he has not answered telephone calls for the past week, I last got a text message on Saturday saying he would call Saturday night, but nothing. I tried to call again yesterday but no answer so I sent a text message saying I was concerned and I would need to re-advertise as I cannot afford for the property to be empty. Is there anything more I should be doing?

Did you stipulate what the holding deposit could be used for?

Walk away and re-market if he is giving you this much trouble before he moves in then think what could happen once he lives in your property.
