Tenant speaks no english. We have no mobile tel for tenant.- no current way of contacting him.
Tenant has made many  copies of keys to "friends".
We  Served S21. Applied through court for possession order which was dated effective  on or before Tuesday  28th.
Tenant had been paying rent,  but did not pay the next due rent Sunday  26th.
Tenant appeared to be moving out weekend/ Monday.
We entered property Wednesday 29th am for inspection, its a mess but no clothes, no toiletries.
We changed locks.
Wednesday evening tenant re appeared with friends trying to re enter with his keys that no longer worked.
Tenant was not claiming tenancy but  Informed us via friends he wanted furniture- these are not his (fridge bed).
We Told him we are willing to give him these( our )  things Saturday ( as we are having property co clearance.
Upon our request he returned his keys through letter box.
Any Advice please
Should we apply for warrant regardless?
Are we legally obliged to give him key back? If not should we allow tenant access to property to take away all stuff we dont want?
Tenant put keys through letter box. do we have to still him access or has he legally left?

Good God No! Why on earth would you want to give him keys again? I would have called the police if he was trying to get back in.I would rather take my unwanted stuff to the tip or give to a local charity. It sounds like he has been running a HMO there, which could have brought you a lot of grief.

The police may well be on your side in practice in such a situation but good luck for pissing of a tenant who could turn around and claim illegal eviction. There's not been a clear implied surrender, an order for possession by itself doesn't end a tenancy.....
