i'm a newbie to DIY rental!! Ive got a couple who want to rent my place and have given them a form to complete so I can get credit checks/references done. they are husband and wife.  The husband has completed the form just for himself (hes paying the rent). Do I need to get the wife credit checked/referenced as well or not? Any advice would be appreciated!  Many thanks

I'm relatively new to this too, but I've had a similar experience, the husband was paying for rent and bill and his wife was living him. His credit checks, salary and references were enough to cover all cost and living expenses for himself and his wife. I took his wife's references as well as she was walking part-time but was not earning enough really. After speaking with their current landlord at the time, he said they always paid on time and were good tenants. They stayed my tenants for 18 months and I had no problems with them. So I guess as long as you know and feel comfortable with the husbands references, its up to you.
