The DPS has a Rent Index report that certainly implies Landlord could take advantage of the high inflation and rent rise trend that is ongoing around the country.

Only Northern Ireland rents appear to have taken a step backwards, but that's by quarter... over the last 12 months they also increased.

Most areas, and property types, are increasing by more than 5%.

Let's be honest... any cost of living assistance that is heading the population's way from Central Government will have a good chance of not landing with Landlords. So maybe time to take matters into your own hands if you haven't already... always be confident in what you ask for, though... £10 a month isn't worth an empty property and re-let.

Indeed, last year I wrote to all our tenants regarding a rise £5 per week which at the time was reasonable, I outlined that this was to commence on the 1st Jan 2023 so a full years notice, I'm now preparing to re-look at this as the cost of living increases.
