They did a piece on Radio 4 yesterday about the above- named campaign, back in the day.Listening to the instructions that were given to the U.K citizens,I was quite alarmed by one thing".No one should go above the ground floor in buildings.Tenants in flats should ask their landlords what provisions they have in place for alternative accomodation in the event of nuclear attack."l

I have 2 tenants in upper floors,so would be grateful  to hear what other landlords are planning.
I think I will end up giving the other more cynical bit of advice I recall from then. "In the event of nuclear war, stick your head between your knees and kiss your arse goodbye"

Our 3rd floor flat boasts (as estate agents like to say) a basement store room.

Our tenant will be down there in the event of Armageddon, but I'm sure we could arrange to sub-let it to your two.

It's only 1.6m x 1.5m so would be a little cosy - but the rent would be very reasonable.

One of them is quite plump and has a cat, hope that does not present a problem?

Rummages for the Tenancy Agreement...

"The Tenant agrees:
9.30. Not to keep any cat, dog (excluding guide dogs where reasonably necessary), bird or other pet or animal at the Premises without the Landlord's written consent. If consent is given, the Tenant agrees to undertake, or alternatively pay for, a full clean of the Premises with de-infestation cleaner upon termination of the tenancy."

It doesn't say anything about plump people.

If the food runs out, I'd say it presents an opportunity...
