Hello everyone,

I am going to rent out my property for the first time on my own so i may need your help and advise please.

My first tenate will be moving in soon and i need to provide a Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement. I do not want to use an agent as i would like to do get more experince myself.

I am advised to visit a solicitor and arrange a new Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement, but I noticed that it is possible to buy one here on this internet page.

If I want to use the one here can I amand it and add things that are important to me?
( i am asking this as i can not see the content of the tenancy agrements before buying it)

wish you  a nice day

I am looking forward to hearing from you

many thanks

Dario

You can amend an existing AST you get hold of (by whatever means) or write your own, or use the ones you see to write your own. You are not bound to use a prescribed form of AST. However, I will draw your attention to the fact the Government (yes, them, the G-men) has released a model agreement... could be a good starting point for you. Use your favourite Search Engine (mine is Google, yours might be something else, Ask Jeeves?) to look up something like "model tenancy agreement" and go to the .gov link you're presented with. I'm able to provide the link exactly as you need (of course I am) but I am finding out if you're the kind of person who prefers to be spoon-fed, or not. Let us know (on the agreement).
