Regarding landlord insurance. I have recently lost an old tenant and I have a new tenant in my flat. Both of the tenants are much the same situation they are both working. Do I need to inform my insurance company that the tenant has changed even though they are both working?

Is this buildings insurance? Or contents insurance? Or both?

1. What did your insurance company/broker tell you regarding the need to supply the tenant's details?

2. What does you insurance policy document say regarding the need to supply the tenant's details?

FYI:

1. I've never been asked to do that.

2. Mine says nothing about this.

All mine says is that I should inform them if the property is going to be unoccupied for more than a month.

I never have done this. I don't even know if I'm supposed to. I don't even care. One of my Lenders used to demand this from me... that they be updated as to the Tenant's situation... I complained loudly each time... in the end they gave me £50 and said I'd not need to do this in future.
