Hi all, I'm a landlord, my property is managed by a Big name lettings agency in newcastle.  The tenant is a senior sales of said company's premium property  branch.  Lettings agent inform me Cistern tank is cracked and leaking.  I asked for a pic to be included taken by their own plumber of the agency.  They have advised me what my plan is.  the pic provides evidence of tenant's negligence in my opinion.  The water in said tank is blue with suds, meaning tenant has added a cleaning solution into the tank and when replacing cistern lid, caused the crack.  Google tells me cracks often caused by lid when people place it back on cistern.  I have notified agency, they claim not tenants cause and plumber has said it could be many reasons.  what should i do?it will cost a lot of money to fix.  this tenant has been hell for many years, once contacting me to replace downlight bulbs.  My property is known market.  i have been informed all downlight have no bulbs so prospective buyers see a dingy, dark home.  door handles coming off as she not tightening them when they come loose.  this is no council accommodation but affluent area.  this tenant has given me so much stress especially being on remission and a stroke.

Regardless of who broke the cistern,it is not is not good for your property to have leaks that could cause further damage.Get it put right, then serve s21 notice to quit.
