New poster here and thanking you in advance for your advice.

A few months ago I was unhappy with my letting agents fees and so switched. The new agent said it would be in my interest to remove the current tenants due to their poor attitude to the property and so I did. However, the new agent failed to ask the old agent for the photographs of the state of the property when the tenants moved in and just submitted a basic inventory to the DPS versus the tenants own photographs. The DPS have only awarded me £111 despite the fact I have had to pay over £1500 to re-carpet and re-paint amongst other works. Just out of interest I emailed the old letting agent asking if they had any photos and they sent them straight away last night. I forwarded them to my new letting agent but the DPS came to a conclusion this morning. The new agent is now saying the case is closed.

Is there anything I can do?

Yes - you can learn a very valuable lesson.

No way they will re-open the case.
