Hi All

Just thought I would ask if this has happened to any other landlords who have managed properties.....

My Lettings agents have just emailed me to say that even though the property market is open as normal but with certain procedures in place...i.e. property viewings will still be taking place by appointment only and following Government guidelines, but they will not be undertaking any property inspections during lockdown.  I am wondering if its just my letting agent, or if other landlords with managed properties are experiencing the same thing?  Obviously there is money to be made by property viewings but not with inspections!  Maybe I'm just suspicious of their reasons for not doing the inspections, it seems they are willing to go into a property for a viewing but not for an inspection.  Would love to know if your Letting agent has contacted you with the same information!!!

I am an inventory clerk. If you are talking about mid-term inspections then we have been advised not to carry out mid-term inspections.  These are seen as avoidable work during a pandemic.

But viewings at the beginning of a tenancy are allowed as people still need to move home for various reasons and no one will want to move into an unviewed property. Checkins and checkouts are still allowed with social distancing and no walk round.

The general thought process appears to be to minimise going out.
