Maintaining PAT testing

Hi All

I rented out a property two years ago, which I am managing myself with no issues so far.

The property was let unfurnished, however the dishwasher and fridge freezer are integral  and are plugged into sockets hidden beneath the kitchen units. I had these appliances PAT tested for my own peace of mind, but really am unsure whether this was legally necessary in the first place. However according to the documentation the time has come for the the PAR validation to expire, and having choreographed the annual gas inspection with the tenants, I would prefer for my tenants to get uninterrupted peaceful enjoyment of the property - unless it is absolutely necessary.

Can anyone enlighten me as to whether I need to (a) have PAT testing done anyway, and (B) will it keep until such a time that the current tenants leave?

Thanks

Martha

No and Yes, you mad ferret :-)

No need for PAT if you're letting out a normal house-y type thing to a single Tenant or family... or a couple of sharers. No need for electrical safety either... just eyeball stuff. You'll know if it's unsafe... or you could lick it.
