A bad tenant with rent arrears has now gone,and good riddance.However,he has had a key meter installed without my knowledge.This happened once before some years back,and it was a real disincentive to prospective tenants,plus a lot of palaver getting it removed.Is it off-putting,especially as I understand the charges are higher per unit?

The agents don't seem to think it will matter.

It is what it is.  If a tenant is choosing a rental property and a card meter is the deciding factor then there's something wrong.  Don't make a deal if it yourself and it won't be an issue.

I hate them. I've not bought properties because of their presence. I know they can be changed, but they turn me off completely. Agents are practised at telling you whatever they think you want to hear.
