Hi Everyone

I half way through refurbishing my flat for renting and am looking at card meters v's smart meters.  The tenants will be paying the own bills for electric and gas.  But which is the best meters to go with.  You hear things about smart meters and one thing I need to know is can they be in the tenants name.  On the other hand would a simple card meter be preferable?

Plus a little tip for anyone out there on a budget.  I asked for months about the best way to clean grout in my bathroom which is totally tiled.  Couldn't find anything other than to dig out the existing grout and re-grout.  However I persevered and found that the paint we were using for the ceiling worked perfectly with a tiny brush.  Bathroom is looking great now.  Try it.  The paint is Zinsser.

Just stick with whatever meters you've got. Do a meter read when the tenants move in and after that it's their responsibility to deal with the utilities.
