Hi folks

Can someone tell me how much rent a council pays to housing benefit tenants who have private landlords?

Is it a fixed amount that all councils pay throughout the country or do councils set their own amounts?  Does it also depend on the number of tenants in the household - e.g. a single person, a couple, or a couple and their children?

It differs. Ring the council and just be open. Thats what I did. I was getting £75 a week and thanks to them was able to increase it to £92.31. They had no problem telling me.
