Hello,
I'm considering using The Houseshop to carry out tenant referencing. I'd like to look at the sample report offered befored going ahead but I keep getting an error message when trying to open the report. All of my other PDF documents and downloads are fine so I'm not sure what the issue is with this report? Can anyone offer any suggestions or can download the sample report and attach a copy here for me? I would be very grateful if anyone has the time to help me. many thanks.

The PDF doesn't work for me either.  Personally I wouldn't recommend any commercial referencing service -- I'd always advise getting a simple credit check (I use Letsafe for that) and seeking employer and previous landlord references yourself.

Thanks so much for your reply and your time in trying to download the PDF. Do you mind me asking why you wouldn't recommend using a comercial referencing service? Just trying to understand any potential pitfalls/negatives. Many thanks.

Long, bitter experience with people who claim to provide professional advice to landlords (whether they're referencing agencies, lettings agents, or any other such thing).  I've found that they'll say whatever it takes to get their payment and when it goes wrong, there's always something in the small print says they can't be held responsible for their terrible advice.  I've personally evicted people four months after they passed a "professional reference check" with a clean bill of health.

Thank you for advice. It's cerainly made me think twice! I'm going to take a look at Letsafe now and probably go with the route that you've suggested. Many thanks again for your time and advice.
