hi my recently instructed agent (on a property I have been letting for last 4 years) has informed me they would like a fee to renegotiate the contract as it is up for renewal.  I am sure that I read somewhere this isnt necessary and I can tell the agent I am happy to continue on a rolling contract with the tenant and thereby avoid paying this fee to the agent. can someone please confirm this is the case? thanks

It certainly isn't necessary, but like most formal agreements, it depends on the wording in the contract you signed and agreed to.
