Inventory company missing items

Hi all
I have hired an inventory company to do my check out report. I have seen that they are missing significant items in the report. They are ignoring my emails and they are not adding the items that should be added. For example, there is a cracked wall that has plaster board missing and they are refusing to add this to the check out report, although at their check in report the wall has no defects.
Who can I complain about this to please? A body of some sort?
Also what can I do? Help!

Thank you all.

Inspector

Hi,

Who hired the clerk?  If they are AIIC members you can write to them but in my view this would be pointless.

How long after the checkout was done were these faults found?

I hired them. I will check re AIIC membership thank you. They were found out straight away. The company sent me the report 2 weeks after check out and the defects were not there.

Really frustrating to hear.  Basically you will need to treat the inventory clerk as a customer service issue.  Write a letter of complaint to the company with photos of the missed defects.  But they are like any company.  They will respond to bad reviews but likely not much else.

Then next time look for a different inventory company. I work as a clerk and am constantly working on improving our reports and the speed they go out (almost all under 24 hours).  But sadly the industry isn't much of a meritocracy.

Have sent you a PM.

If the photos you took of the unnoticed damage is date stamped you can still use this is evidence for any deposit deductions.  The inventory report should have something in writing protecting themselves and stating the landlord should check the report for anything not noted.
