Hi there!
I would like some advice regarding Boiler, Central Heating and Plumbing Insurance please.
I am a first time Landlord and want to purchase insurance cover for the boiler, etc., as I will be several hundred miles away and cannot just 'pop round' if there is a problem.
Can anyone recommend a good company to provide this sort of thing? And who to avoid!
I've done a search on a comparison site, but thought some information from the experts would be better.
Thanks in advance for any information and advice.

I have had some good experiences with British Gas insurance.

I think it was less than a tenner p.a. to insure a 15 year old boiler, they did not come out to inspect it first either.

I have had to call them out once, because of a noisy fan - which they sorted quickly.

I suspect that your biggest problem with you remote landlording, is not going to be the insurance, but making sure someone can be in the premises to allow access for a repair.

If that is not an issue, then it's all good.

We cancelled our policy with Homeserve.  We bought an old property and had a new boiler (when we were new at this!). Ended up with a call out charge when they came out and so used our plumber for a small job as it was £40 for him and £50 for Homeserve.  Paid about £230/year for nothing for 2 years and they were increasing that.  Not a big fan of warranties, need a good trustworthy range of trades. There are too many things in a house to insure.  Where do you stop? Keep it maintained and save your money for repairs.
