Hi I'm new here and new to being a landlord which is why we pay a fee to the letting agency.  I just was curious what was an acceptable time frame to expect your rent money.  Our tenants paid in cash last Monday to the rental conpany this is now the following Tuesday and still no money. This is second month this has happened (only been a landlord for 2 months). When we queried this last month they kept telling us to expect on certain days then when it didn't appear they told us they forgot to put it through.  Well the same thing is happening this month was told to expect it last Saturday but still not in.  They said they only process the rent money on a Wednesday so if we have by Friday we will be doing well.  We rent too and ohr landlord is having to wait 2-3 weeks on our money (using same agency) is this normal? ? Thanks

Ive run a letting agency for over 20 years and we transfer rent paid to us via BACS the next working day - why would an agent want to use "your" money except for their cash flow - sound lazy at best and very dodgy at worst.

There is NOTHING to stop you having rent paid to you directly even if they are managing for you.
How hard can it be to check your bank account the day after the rent should have been paid.
Very easy to email the tenant and enquire where the rent is.
I'm sure the LA will be glad that you do the chasing and not them
You'll receive the rent quicker!!!
