Hi,
Some advice please.
We bought our daughter a flat after remortgaging.  The flat is in our names as she is currently a University student.  It is 2bedroomed.  She wants to rent the other room.
Question:
What does she need to consider before doing this.
Will there be tax implications for us?
Who should the other person pay rent to, i.e. Our daughter or us?
What will this person be legally, a tenant or lodger and how can I find out what her rights will be.
Our daughter will be living in the flat with this other person..
I've read that the threshold for renting a room in your own home is around £7000 before it meets tax threshold.  Would this apply in this situation?

Many thanks for any advice

Nobody can answer this unless you let us know under what legal arrangement your Daughter is residing in the premises.
