Jailed Tenant Terminated Contract - Possessions

Thank you for having me and taking the time to read a first-time post.

Following the conviction of my tenant (I only rent one property out) they tahnkfully signed a termination, but have stipulated that their father takes ownership of their possessions.

The father is requesting the key to do this over a number of nights, but as he has no ownership of the property and I would like an inventory of what is being taken, I am reluctant to offer up the keys.

I work away from home and the father claims to be away on weekends, so I have nominated someone to act on my behalf which has been thrown out also.

Would you kindly advise on how to approach this situation as I donot want to be 3 months down the line using eBay for the goods and risking issues for months from the family of the tenant.

Store the possessions elsewhere and get the property let to someone else without delay

There is a statutory procedure that can be followed if needs be under the Torts Interference with Goods Act.  Google it.  There's lots of info out there.

Don't let this prevent you from getting income from the property
