Hi everyone

For private landlords with long term tenants who have tried to claim for deposit protection penalties, are you aware of this?

https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2004/34/section/215B

Care to share your view and experience here? The penalty wasn't designed for a windfall. However there are misunderstanding among landlords and tenants.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Without repeating the response you have gotten from someone else on another forum where you posted this, what are you trying to get in responses and why?

A piece of legislation and an article that's six years old?

@KTC this isn't a personal question. The article is 6 years old however the legislation still stands isn't it? Why are you upset? Whats wrong with posting the question on forums elsewhere?

I don't think anyone is upset... it's that your question is a bit strange... it's not really very clear what you're asking, or why... it is kinda guarded... and now you say it doesn't impact your personal situation so it's not a cry for help. Asking you why you're asking would usually tease out some context, bring it out of the generic philosophical debate sphere... we ain't got time to spending there.
