section 8, 21 and tds

Hi, my tenant 6 month tenancy comes to an end on Thursday.  She has lied and has persistently been a late payer with her rent since she moved in. I initially asked for £1000 and have only ever received half of it and was waiting for the other half which has never materialised. She is now owing 2 months (soon to be 3 months rent) and has told me by text message to use the 500. I want to serve her with a section 8 this Friday and then ultimately a section 21 notice.  What are my options now? Any help out of this mess greatly appreciated!!

As they are at the end of the AST a section 21 notice to quit should be enough.

Is it worth still putting the 500 which she said I can use into a tds? Thanks for your reply :)

Was the £500 taken as a deposit?

If you have not protected the deposit you are open already to fines etc.

Take the £500 against rent owed, and get her out as nicely and quickly as you can, as if she chooses to give you grief..... you have been a very naughty boy!

Don't think you will be able to recover anything else, just be grateful when she leaves!
