Has anyone had this situation? Little bits of mould were appearing in the house so I had a survey done. Turns out the tenants have turned off the heating because they can't afford it and have just been heating one room. The 'little bits' of mould are now big. What should/ can I do?

You should click on the big SEARCH button at the top of the forum page, type the word mould in the 'Search for' box, and then click 'Search'.

The issue you are having has been covered many times in this forum. You'll find lots of advice in the threads revealed by the search.

I hope you get the mould or the tenants sorted.

Before paying for a survey, did you ask the tenants if they were ventillating and heating? Little bits of mould can be wiped and sprayed, have you asked them to do this? If they are unable or unwilling to look after the property you should serve notice.Next thing you know they could be telling you they have "health issues" caused by mould.

It was a free survey but very good and detailed. They took lots of photos. Tbh I did the survey because there was a problem with moisture on the chimney breast that kept recurring no matter how many roofers I sent up there. I wasn't aware of any other issues until the survey so it's come as a shock. This must have happened very quickly as I was in the house a couple of months ago.
