Just wondering if anyone can help me further.   Through advice from the forum, I decided to  write to the guarantor for the outstanding money.  However, the letter that was sent was tracked and she has not collected it so what do I do now.  Do I send another letter stipulating 7 days otherwise I will proceed with applying  to the small claims court?

Thanks for reading and your time

From other replies on other forums the court is quite happy to see a first class letter that's been sent as proof a letter has been received by someone.  Just get a free proof of postage receipt from the post office.  For the belt and braces approach people have sent the same letter, by first class from another post office either on the same or the next day, that takes away the 'lost in the post' scenario.

Agreed. Two letters, two different Post Offices, both with - free - proof of posting. Recorded Delivery can actually work against you sometimes, even though you think you are going that extra mile to ensure you have proof of delivery.

Lol.

Yes I never sign proof of delivery, unless it near a Birthday.

The last one from a "neighbour"  I got the Postie to return it "gone away"
