Evening folks
I have offered a tenancy for my property starting next month.
Relatively new to this and only had one previous tenant.
The new folks are asking for the landline number for the property and I have no idea what it is, (silly me!).
Anyway, last tenant had Sky TV and broadband but didn't know the landline number as just used mobile.
I've been calling BT and Sky for almost 3 hours and cannot get anyone to pick up the phone let alone offer any help.
Can anyone advise how to get the landline number, should the new tenant just contact their broadband provider and get a number from them?
Any advice much appreciated, thanks in advance.

It's nothing to do with you. Just tell them to sort it themselves after they move in.

Want to help them, although maybe we do pander too much and should just leave them to it.
Many thanks.

This might sound a little daft! Apologies if so!!

Can you not plug a phone into the socket then call your mobile?  Number should show up on screen??

Mrs m

Will try calling mobile tomorrow.
Went onto BT chat and someone called me, they have no landline number for the property.
Last tenant had Sky TV and broadband so Sky may have number.
As suggested may just advise tenants to contact their preferred broadband provider and sort it out that way.
Thanks for the replies. 😊

You're not their mum, or their Carer. Aren't they normal adults? How do they survive at life in general? You're making a rod for your own back, I'm afraid.

For BT at least, dialling 17070 will tell you what your own number is.

Agree with Hippogriff-start as you mean to go on.You can end up micromanaging their lives.I went to a lot of trouble for one tenant years ago,to enable her to move in quickly. There followed a load of petty requests, way outside of my brief.Last straw was when she bought a new telly after moving, and phoned that evening complaining that she could not tune it in-would I get a new aerial installed promptly. Two months into the tenancy she decided she was happier back home with Mummy, and was most shocked that she was expected to pay rent until it was relet.

Thanks for all the replies folks.
Will leave them to it!
