Hi. I have just had to evict a tenant due to rent arrears. My solicitor went through the procedure of obtaining a court pocession order followed by a bailiff date by which time the tenant was rehoused by the council. My solicitor billed me £1355 is he having me on?   that seems ridiculously high. As when we attended court the solicitor was representing about 4 other landlords so not even as if he went totally out of his way.

Was that what they charged you just for attending the court hearing or was it for the entire process from beginning to end? Was it Section 8 or Section 21? Was it defended by the tenant?

If you can provide this information, I can let you have my view on the fee charged.
