Problem with residents association

My tenants and agency have reported that owners who are members of the residents association living in the block of apartments are rude and obstructive to them.  If the agents are doing viewings or if tenants are having work done or enquire about work above their flats on roof/loft space they are met with hostility and rudeness.  Would the building management company hold any sway with the residents association? There appears to be a them and us attitude from resident owners towards renters which could impact on tenants extending contracts. Has anyone else experienced this situation? Any advice?

God Yes.When I bought my 3 flats, the other 5 were all owner occupied. I think jealousy was behind it,they seemed to think I was rich. They complained about tenants to me,calling them "An absolute nightmare" but when questioned could not come up with one example of anti-social behaviour. I used to go up and tell them what a bunch of petty-minded idiots they were. Now,all but one are rented out so that does not happen.I now have the misery of being one of the co-directors since we all bought the freeholds, another kind of hell.

Thanks. Good to know it's not just me.  Think will have to wait on specifics and maybe enquire with the lease hold company if this behaviour is in breach of any terms.  Will let people know if I find anything useful as sounds like it could be a common problem.
