ive got to contact my freeholder for permision to sublet,

Is there a normal charge they make for this or if not what should I expect to pay.

It's a property that was built in 1963 and has a 999year lease,

The company who deal with the ground rent and things like this is "Chancery St James"

It should all be documented in your Lease. Hopefully you have it and you can peruse it.

I have found the lease and I can not find anything about subletting in it or any charges that it may incur to get permission....

Hippogriff

That should be your answer. A Freeholder cannot charge a Leaseholder for anything that isn't documented in the Lease. Leases are created with great attention to detail, by professionals, for this kind of purpose... you hope.

Ah I never knew that thanks for that much appreciated
