Does anyone know that when an AST term ends and the tenant enters into a Periodic Tenancy does this Periodic Tenancy require a signed agreement between both parties or does clear and unambiguous email correspondence between both parties agreeing to the extention to the original contract count as an " agreement"?

You dont need anything at all.

If you dont do anything at all, it is assumed it goes rolling.

Thanks Boboff, that is what we thought

Hippogriff

You don't even need your clear and unambiguous email.

Are we all satisfied now that a reissue of Prescribed Information is *not* necessary when going to periodic.  I know this was supposed to be changing, but I dont trust these things.

I'm definitely under the impression there's no need to reissue the PI when the tenancy goes periodic anymore. I won't be reissuing. It was nonsense to me anyways.

If the tenancy rolls over into a new fixed term AST or a statutory periodic tenancy there is no need to re-issue the Prescribed Information as long as:

The deposit was properly protected and Prescribed Information served at the start of the original tenancy;
The property let remains the same;
The tenant(s) remain the same;
The landlord(s) remain the same;
The deposit protection scheme used remains the same.
