Hi,

Hoping someone can give some advice.

Our tenants are due to be evicted on Wednesday. We just got a call from an Unknown number claiming to be the court saying that the tenants have been granted a last minute hearing tomorrow morning claiming hardship.

The tenants have already managed to postpone the eviction by 1 month after the first hearing again claiming hardship and has not paid rent since June.

We can not afford to delay things further.

Any thoughts? I've never heard of a court calling on a Sunday.

Thanks for your help in advance.

The Sheriffs Office

In our opinion the call would not have come from the Court. They are not open on Sundays.

We would suggest you call the Court first thing to clarify this.

In terms of the eviction the delays can clearly be frustrating. These delays can often be caused when the County Court Bailiff gives notice to the tenant, something we as High Court enforcement officers are not required to do.

Further details can be found here: http://thesheriffsoffice.com/services/repossession/repossession_of_residential_property and by downloading the Free E-Book.

Finally got the tenants out... But they have filled the loft and shed with a huge amount of junk, mostly wood, some metal scraps and some mattresses. Volume is enough for a large skip. In addition, they have broken the loft ladder.

Any suggestions on the best and cheapest way to dispose of this?

Thank you for your help in advance.

Riptide

Mattresses to tip yourself.  Wood and metal on freecycle.  I'm sure someone would like to burn the wood.

Thank you Riptide. Wasn't even aware such a site existed. Going to give it a try.

Hi there, just in case anyone else who might have to go thro the speedy eviction process - I used DCBL (the ones from TVs can't pay we'll take it away).  They were very efficient, very expensive but in my mind worth every penny.  That was in October 2014.
