Hello All

My mother has inherited a property from her brother. She is 82yrs old and has dementia, and dad has lasting power of attorney. Is it possible for mother to let out the property but for myself to act as landlord?.Also would  the contents/buildings insurance have to be in mothers name .
Any help/advice would be much appreciated

Landlord and owner can be complete separate entities.  Ideally you want the house put into someone else's name or have your dad (bit I assume he is a similar age) have the equivalent of tenants in common on the house to at least protect half of its value.

It's called landlord insurance rather than owners insurance so I would assume it could be in your name, a quick call to an insurance broker would confirm this though as I'm just guessing/assuming.
