Has anyone any experience of changing their agent during a tenancy? I'm not very happy with my current agent. I acted too quickly to take them on as they sold me  the property and it seemed seamless to go with the same when letting it. They found the tenant and the tenant is fine but the agent is bugging me - a history of half truths and excuses and recently marked up some electrical work at over double the cost when I rang a local electrician.  I'm not ready to jump ship yet but I wondered what experienced landlords might advise 👍

Take a look at your contract with the agent. It will likely state that a penalty is payble for you to end the contract early and that may be greater still if you wish to retain the tenant they found for you.

Check your agents operating lawfully as well, do some research make sure they have the mandatory requirements & are following said requirements. Agents are used to being sacked for the basics like you describe & have reply's on tap, try & come from left of field to add leverage to the sacking.

Although sometimes it's just best to roll over & pay them off.  They'll try all sorts to fob you off If it looks & smells like bull it is bull.  Good luck.
