A long time ago all the owners of my development banded together to purchase the freehold for our development so we are apparently ALL Members of the Freehold Company.

I would now like to make a request of the freehold company, but the managing agents act as the intermediaries and refuse to give out the details so that i can contact the freehold company directly.

Is this legal? either they are an official company who can be contacted or in this case, they seem to be a one man band who are making decisions on behalf of all the owners. Is it legal that they are not directly reachable?

Have you looked the company up at Companies House? That should give you the names of the Directors and the registered office address - although that might turn out to be the agents.
